Suites

After my debut album at "Audite" with recordings of suites for viola solo by Max Reger, Adolf Busch and Justus Weinreich, a second CD was released in 2016: I am very proud to announce the release of both quintets by Johannes Brahms. Recorded with the Mandelring Quartet. It was something like coming home when we played together again two years after I left the quartet. I am very happy that "we" still work in a wonderful, friendly and professional way together. Listening to Andreas at the viola is a great source of inspiration for me! What a blessing for the quartet to have found such a great violinist!

"After 16 wonderful years in the Mandelring Quartet, I decided to explore new ways in my life! With great joy and gratitude, I look back on many wonderful concerts, travels, rehearsals, jointly lived experiences and don't want to miss any of it. I wish Andreas Willwohl lots of fun in this great quartet and I hope that he will also find his musical home there, as I was able to have it in this group during all these years.

Master Classes

In 2021, I will give 5 master classes. As usual, Starnberg (Starnberger Musiktage), Leutkirch (summer academy Leutkirch) and Allegro Vivo (Horn/Austria). For the second time I will be at the Summer Academy Biel and for the first time at the Villa Sawallisch in Grassau. See "masterclasses" for more information.

Projects

It was a wonderful year 2016 with great festivals, masterclasses, concerts and projects! Go to "News" for some impressions of that and to "concerts" for future events. Also 2017 is again full with many great projects. I am also very proud to be asked many times since I left the quartet to be a substitute as principal violist at the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra! What an great opportunity for me to get closer to the fantastic orchestral repertoire!
